The Fulbright Forum - US-UK Fulbright Commission
The Fulbright Forum allows Fulbrighters to learn more about the rich culture, diversity and history of the UK through exploring a UK location during a three-day residential event. At our 2025 Forum, we had the exciting opportunity to discover the Welsh capital, Cardiff, as well as the surrounding area.
The event marks a mid-way point allowing the whole Fulbright community to come together, celebrate, and reflect on their experiences so far. This event welcomed 72 Fulbrighters and staff for three days exploring Welsh politics, the capital city, cultural highlights, building community, and celebrating good times (with good food) in Cardiff.

Sample Schedule
Tuesday
12pm (ish) - Arrive in Cardiff. Check in is 3pm, so you will not be able to check in yet, but you can drop your luggage in storage there. Please have lunch prior to arrival.
13:30 - Meet at the hotel
13:45- 14:30 - Tea & Cake, welcome activity
14:30 – Welcome to Wales session
15:00 - Welcome Panel
16:00 - Opening drinks reception
18:00 - Meet at the hotel lobby for a walk to dinner (optional; otherwise you can just meet us at the restaurant)
18:30 – Welcome dinner
Wednesday
Breakfast will be provided at the hotel. *Be ready to meet outside the hotel at 9:30am*
*A packed lunch will be provided to you on the day.
10:00 - Coach departs
10:30 - Group A Senedd, Group B Cardiff Bay
11:30 - Group A Cardiff Bay, Group B Senedd
12:30 - Depart for St Fagan's. Packed lunch provided, and free to roam the sites and exhibits. Tours will be offered and a scavenger hunt (see private website for details).
16:00 - Return to Cardiff for dinner on your own. Check out the linked Google map for our local favourites.
Thursday
Breakfast will be provided at the hotel. Please check out of your room (check out is at noon). You can store luggage there.
9:00 Tour 1 leaves for Cardiff Castle (meet at in the lobby to walk over for the 9:30 tour, RSVP required)
9:40 Tour 2 leaves for Cardiff Castle (meet in the lobby to walk over for the 10:10 tour, RSVP required)
All depart by 12pm
